The Bartlett Park District held its first Halloween House Decorating Contest Wednesday night.
First place went to the Pulia family, 300 E. Country, because they were “very original (and) captured the scary spirit of Halloween,” according to the park district. The Pulia residence was complete with a spooky graveyard scene with cornstalks, fog bubbles, scary window decorations and pumpkins.
Second place went to the Martine family, 834 Bryn Mawr, who had animated figures with sound effects, lights and fog. Decorations extended to the roof, porch, garage, garden and driveway.
Honorable mention went to the Colley family, 685 Catalpa, for their live theatrical “KillerKlowns”.
Judges from Bartlett Park District included event organizers: Lynsey Heathcote, Courtney Suffredin, Scott Falli, Stephanie Fitzsimons, Beth Martens, Laura Clark, Kathy LaBarre, Tyler LaBarre, Stephanie Logan and Katie Logan.
