Bartlett trustees approved a waste agreement with Allied Waste at tonight's board meeting.
Allied Waste's proposal will maintain a one-day pick-up on Tuesday and reduce costs for all residents. The cost of service will be $19.70 per month for single families, $17.73 for multi-family households and $10.63 for multi-family centralized homes.
The agreement could also potentially increase recycling throughout the village by 5 percent with the implementation of 65 gallon recycling toters. These covered toters are on wheels and provide an additional 32 percent storage capacity in relation to the previous recycling bins.
Under the proposal, residents will still utilize yard waste bags for $2.75 per bag. The agreement will also continue to provide free leaf collection, free bulk item and white good pick-up, free collection of small amounts of remodeling/construction debris, the Christmas tree recycling program, the no-strike clause, 5 percent franchise fee and 50 percent recycling revenue.
