DuPage County will be holding two informational meetings for any local nonprofit organizations interested in applying for a grant through the human services grant fund.

The meetings will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday in room 1500B of the county administration building, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.

The fund is a pool of money created by DuPage County to provide assistance to organizations that serve the human service needs of county residents. This year, the fund will distribute $1 million to grant recipients.

The average size of previous grants has been $21,500, though amounts have ranged from $2,500 to $75,000. They are available to organizations that have set goals to promote self-sufficiency and help families achieve independence; ensure the protection of children and other vulnerable residents; and maximize prevention opportunities to strengthen families’ well-being and stability.

Information regarding eligibility guidelines, selection criteria and the grant application can be found at www.dupageco.org/cdc in the human services grant fund section.
