
Theft reported
A man stole more than $500 worth of alcohol on two occasions from the Jewel-Osco at 599 Roosevelt Road earlier this month, according to police reports. At about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 4, video surveillance recorded a man walking out of the store with 12 bottles of vodka costing $215.88. At about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 9, video surveillance shows the same man walking out of the store with 12 bottles of rum worth $299.88. He was described as a 40-year-old black man, about 5-feet 10-inches tall, with a thick build and a bald or shaved head.
Graffiti found
Police discovered criminal defacement Aug. 9 at Panfish Playground on Harding Avenue. Vulgarities were written with black marker on the slide and support poles, reports state.
DUI charged
• Adam Watts, 23, of Warrenville was charged with driving under the influence Aug. 8 after officers pulled him over when they found the car’s owner had a suspended license, according to reports. He also was charged with possession of a drug paraphernalia after officers found a pipe in the driver’s door compartment of his car, reports state. He was released on $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 6.
• Kristen Enger, 23, of Bloomingdale was charged with driving under the influence Aug. 10 after she was observed speeding on Surrey Drive near Roosevelt Road, according to police reports.
