
Items reported stolen
• Seven used golf clubs and a golf bag were stolen from a 2006 Honda CRV in the 400 block of North Park Boulevard between July 22 and 24, Glen Ellyn police reports state.
• A set of golf clubs and a green golf bag, worth $500 in all, were stolen overnight July 25, from a car parked in the 300 block of Duane Street, according to police reports. Also reported missing was a CD and between $4 and $5 in change.
• A women reported being the victim of a pickpocket July 23 in downtown Glen Ellyn.
The woman was walking near the corner of Crescent Boulevard and Main Street at about 8 p.m. when she passed three juveniles who were acting suspiciously, according to police reports. One of them bumped into her, and a short time later she found that her cell phone was missing from her purse. The phone was valued at $600.
Alcohol charges filed
• Jake Knopp, 18, 960 Chapel Court, Glen Ellyn, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol, trespassing and resisting a police officer after he and about a half dozen others were observed at the Maryknoll Park tennis courts at about 12:30 a.m. July 27. According to reports, an unmarked police car arrived at the scene, and when the officer approached the seven individuals and identified himself, the others ran away. After a foot pursuit, Knopp was apprehended, and police detected an odor of alcohol, police said. According to reports, Knopp said he had “a couple” of beers.
• Robert Ludwiak, 45, of Villa Park was charged with driving under the influence after police found him stopped in his car and asleep at the wheel on Park Boulevard north of Raintree Drive at 2:30 a.m. July 22, police said.
• Charles Williams, 56, of Carol Stream was charged with driving under the influence at about 1:30 a.m. July 30 after police observed him squeal his tires while turning onto St. Charles Road and making a sudden lane change without signaling, according to police reports.
• Jesus Serrano, 37, of Carol Stream was charged with driving under the influence at about 2:30 a.m. July 21 after police found him inspecting damage to his car off to the side of Roosevelt Road near I-355, police said. According to reports, the keys were in the ignition and the car running, and Serrano told police that he had damaged his car after striking a wall on the highway.
• Quinn Cuttone, 23, 523 Brighton Drive, Wheaton, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 12:45 a.m. July 16 after he was observed speeding on Roosevelt Road near Park Boulevard, according to police reports. After police apprehended Cuttone, a pipe was found in his pocket, reports state.
Retail theft alleged
Christopher Wilson, 27, of Elmhurst was charged with retail theft July 25 after employees at the Jewel-Osco at 599 Roosevelt Road reported Wilson pocketed a box of laxatives and a can of energy drink and attempted to leave the store without paying, according to police reports.
