Items reported stolen
A car parked at Leslie’s Car Wash, 375 Roosevelt Road, was broken into between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 18, according to Glen Ellyn police reports. The owner reported that about 25 compact discs, an MP3 radio adapter, digital camera and wallet with two debit cards were taken from the unlocked car.

Underage drinking charged
Anthony Lattarulo, 20, 812 Crescent Drive, Glen Ellyn, was charged with two counts of public intoxication and one count of possession of alcohol by a person under 21 after he was seen swaying June 18 while walking near Surrey Drive and Briar Street, Glen Ellyn police reports state. An officer reported he detected alcohol on Lattarulo’s breath and discovered he had bottles of vodka and rum in his backpack, police said. Lattarulo was returned to his residence and released to his mother, according to reports.

Purse reported stolen
A purse was stolen June 21 from a car parked at Grandma Sally’s Waffle House, 369 Roosevelt Road. A customer at the restaurant realized at about 11:30 a.m. that the window of her Pontiac Montana had been broken, and she found her purse missing from the car. Inside the purse was a checkbook, two credit cards and $100, according to police reports.

Retail theft charged
Wilbert Singletary, 43, of Hillside, was charged with felony retail theft June 25 after employees of Dominick’s Fine Foods, 800 Roosevelt Road, reported that he stole more than $1,000 worth of alcohol and other merchandise from the store, police said.

According to reports, Singletary left the store with merchandise without paying, after which police were called. Officers stopped Singletary and discovered three cases of Jack Daniels whiskey from the store, valued at $1,007.64, police said. They also found two boxes of Captain Crunch, a package of diapers and a package of toilet paper, all valued at $32.66, police said.

Bicycle reported stolen
A bicycle was reported stolen just before 2 p.m. July 2 from outside Harris Bank, 403 Pennsylvania Ave. The owner told police he left the bicycle unlocked for about 15 minutes when he went into the bank, and it was missing when he returned.

Items taken from car
Several items were taken from a vehicle parked at 26 Muirwood Ave. June 27, according to Glen Ellyn police reports. When the owner of the 1996 Ford Aerostar went out to the unlocked vehicle at about 10:30 a.m., he noticed a door ajar. Nothing was taken from his wallet, which had been on the floor of the car, but the vehicle’s information was missing as were a pair of sandals, reports state.

Wallet reported stolen
An unidentified woman stole a wallet with $780 in cash June 23 from a man living at 25 N. Main St., according to police reports. At about 7 p.m. the woman knocked on the door and asked the resident for $15 to buy food. The man told police that he gave her the money, after which the woman thanked and hugged him. As she was leaving, he noticed the wallet was missing from his back pocket, and he asked if she had taken it.

She denied taking it, and he pursued her to the parking lot, where she fled in an unknown vehicle. The suspect was described as a black woman between the ages of 35 and 40, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. She was wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans, according to reports.

DUI alleged
Matthew R. Robson, 24, of Winfield, was charged with driving under the influence, operating an uninsured vehicle, disobeying a traffic control signal and not having valid registration at about 1 a.m. July 8 at the intersection of Butterfield and Naperville roads, according to reports.

Adam F. Small, 23, of Winfield, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to signal and operating an uninsured vehicle at about 1:45 a.m. July 8 at the intersection of Childs and Dorchester streets, according to police.

Alexandra N. Hall, 19, 51 Muirfield Circle, Wheaton, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage at about 12:15 a.m. July 7 at the intersection of Chase Court and Roosevelt Road, according to police.

Joshua K. Watson, 27, of Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding at about 3 a.m. July 7 at the intersection of Butterfield and Orchard roads, according to reports.

Garth L. Glader, 46, of Geneva, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage at 5:15 p.m. July 7 at the intersection of Butterfield and Wiesbrook roads, according to police.

Jason S. Gevase, 28, of Warrenville, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at about 11 a.m. July 6 at the intersection of Butterfield and Naperville roads, according to reports.

Lee Ann Ventura, 28, of Hoffman Estates, was charged with driving under the influence, no driver’s license and improper lane usage at about 3:30 a.m. July 4 at the intersection of Farnham and Naperville roads, according to police.

Justin S. Robbins, 21, of Winfield, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and illegal transport of alcohol at about 11:30 p.m. July 5 at the intersection of Butterfield and Lambert roads, according to police.

Theft charged
Dorothy Loren Lariviere, 42, of West Chicago, was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property, attempted credit card fraud, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 3:30 p.m. July 2 at Ultra Foods, 502 S. County Farm Road, according to reports. She also was held for a previous warrant for failing to appear in court for driving while her license was suspended, police said.

Car vandalized
The rear window of a 1996 Audi A4 was shattered between 2 and 4:30 p.m. July 8 while the owner played softball at Atten Park, 1720 S. Wiesbrook Road, according to reports. The estimated cost of the damage was not reported.

Bullet strikes house
On the night of July 4, a firearm was discharged in a residential area and a bullet went through the roof and into the living room of a home in the 600 block of East Parkway Drive, according to police. No one was injured. Wheaton police are investigating the incident. Anyone who may have experienced damage to their property from bullets or with information may call Investigative Division Cmdr.
