Glen Ellyn, IL -

The College of DuPage's Technology Building was evacuated today, after a landscaping crew working nearby struck a 2-inch service line, causing a natural gas leak.

According to a media release from Craig Eldridge, a public information officer at the school, five individuals in an adjacent building reported feeling ill and were treated at the scene by Glen Ellyn paramedics.

The Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Department responded to the school, located at 425 Fawell Blvd., at 1:02 p.m., in regards to the gas leak.

NICOR is on the scene and working to determine how to secure the gas line. The rest of the campus remains open and operating normally.
