The Village of Glen Ellyn adopted its 2009 tax levy and voted to issue $3 million in bonds to fix the Glen Ellyn Public Library, Monday night at the board's regular meeting.

The village levy is in the amount of $5,865,649 for the May, 2009 through April, 2010 fiscal year and is an increase of 1.2 percent compared to last year's levy.

The library's levy increased 15.9 percent compared to last year, due to the library board of trustees' request for the village to issue $3 million in bonds for building repairs and for ongoing maintenance.

Combined, the levy's are $9,774,225.
