Glen Ellyn, IL -

The Village of Glen Ellyn's Board of Trustees approved a strategic plan designed to guide the short-term and long-term improvement of the village's downtown, Monday night during the board's regular meeting.

After the meeting, Village Director of Planning and Development Staci Hulseberg said that the plan, mostly conceptual, is a guiding document. "I wouldn't say that anything is set in stone, but it presents a vision for us of (where) we would like to be in the future," she said.

Village Manager Steve Jones said the plan recommends structured parking, higher density multi-family residences, the potential reconfiguration of the street system and a park-like setting that would follow the north side of the train tracks, among other things.
