There are 16 spots still available in next week’s 30-against-1 chess exhibition in Glen Ellyn.
International Grandmaster John Fedorowicz, a U.S. Open champion, will simultaneously take on up to 30 challengers in as many games at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St.
“He’ll have the whole room set up, and he’ll go from board to board,” said library associate Amy Waters.
The free exhibition is open to players of all ranges and abilities, though they should have at least a basic knowledge of the rules, Waters said.
“Come ready to play,” she said.
So far, the range of players is from first grade to 71 years old.
Challengers can sign up at the library or by calling the library’s Youth Services Department at 630-469-0879.
