
Several Glenbard Township High School District 87 educators will share their knowledge with colleagues when they make presentations at national conferences of professional associations.
Glenbard South High School librarian Diane Mankowski will present at the American Association of School Librarians national conference in October. Mankowski’s presentation is called “Want to Hook Teens into Reading? Throw Them a Party.”
Glenbard East High School band director Don Devany will be a presenter at the Music Educators National Conference in April. Devany will join four other panelists in presenting “The Care and Feeding of the Second Band and Its Director.” MENC is the parent national organization of the Illinois Music Educators Association.
Audris Griffith, assistant principal for instruction at Glenbard West High School, and Pam Zimmermann, associate superintendent for educational services, will present a session at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development conference in March.
Their session is titled “Using Understanding by Design Principles to Build a Coherent District Curriculum.”
These educators’ dedication to continuous improvement and professional development contribute to Glenbard District 87’s tradition of excellence, district officials said.
