Pair of Co-op golfers state-bound

Carbondale, Ill., here they come.
Carly Schneider and Samantha Coyne of the South Elgin/Bartlett/Streamwood co-op girls golf team were among eight individual state qualifiers at Tuesday's sectional tournament at Ingersoll in Rockford.
While no one could keep pace with Lakes' senior Abbie Horan, who carded a 1-over par 73 on the day, Schneider and Coyne find themselves headed to this weekend's state tournament at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale.
Schneider fired a 79 to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place among individuals, while Coyne carded an 81 to finish in a two-way tie for fifth place among individuals.
Coyne will tee off at 10:09 a.m. Friday in a group with players from Champaign Centenniel, Lyons Township and Hampshire.
Schneider will start at 10:27 a.m. Friday in a group with players from Downers Grove North, Stevenson and Sterling.
