An Elgin man is in serious condition after a motor vehicle crash just after 8 a.m. this morning.
Christopher J. Musatto was driving a black 1971 Ford Mustang eastbound on Lake Street in Bartlett when his vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes of traffic and collided with a white Ford F-150 driven by Lisa M. Helgerson of South Elgin, according to a news release issued by the Bartlett Police Department.
Musatto’s vehicle then went down an embankment on the north side of the roadway, officials said. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.
No citations were issued because the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, said Sgt. Geoffrey Pretkelis.
Lake Street’s eastbound and westbound lanes between North Bartlett Road and Route 59 were closed for about 90 minutes following the crash, Bartlett police said.
The Bartlett Police Department’s Traffic Crash Investigators are investigating the cause of the crash.
