The DuPage County Fair is seeking volunteers for its 55th annual summer shindig.
The fair is searching for anyone aged 16 and up to work with a variety of farm animals, help staff AgVentureland and monitor the agricultural science, home economics and art exhibits. Some volunteers may be asked to run errands, provide clerical assistance, help judges with awards, help in the guest-relations booth, answer phones, help with set up prior to the fair or help with other activities during the fair.
The fair will be held July 22 to 26 at the County fair grounds, 2015 W. Manchester Road, Wheaton.
This year the fair’s grandstand concerts will be free with general admission. The lineup includes Los Lobos, The Wailers and The Academy Is with special guests The Cab. The Saturday and Sunday grandstand events will be Truck and Tractor Pulls and Demolition Derbies respectively, and $7 tickets for each of these events will go on sale June 1.
Daily admission to the fair is $10 for adults, $3 for children 3 to 12, and 2 and under is free. Seniors 62 and over will be free on Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
