Volunteers can spend their "Make a Difference Day" helping East Branch Forest Preserve in Glendale Heights from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25.
Participants will remove litter from shorelines and trails at the preserve, which includes environments varying from a wetland habitat for endangered birds to an off-leash dog area.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear waterproof boots and bring gloves. Participants younger than 18 must have a signed waiver by a parent or guardian, and children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers will meet at the parking lot located on Glen Ellyn Road, a quarter mile south of Army Trail Road. For more information, call (630) 933-7681.
