Geneva trio miss state golf cut

Shannon Delaney, Mel Schlenker and Emily Comperda shot well enough at the St. Francis regional last week to advance to Tuesday's St. Ignatius sectional at Cog Hill in Lemont.
Unfortunately for the three Geneva golfers, their postseason run ended there as Glenbard West's Brooke Kochevar set the pace with a 79, and the rest of the individual qualifiers finished within five strokes of her to soak up the other seven solo state bids.
