OUTLOOK A series of close calls has certainly made Geneva a battle-tested team. Yorkville, Glenbard South and Sycamore had the Vikings looking up at deficits the last three weeks. But the Barbs might not put up much of a fight on homecoming.

The Vikings are always tough to beat at home, and DeKalb has struggled on any field it has played on: It’s points-for total (66, 13.2 per game) and points-allowed total (138, 27.6 per game) is the worst in the Western Sun conference.

Three times this season the Barbs have allowed 30 points or more, which must be music to the ears of Geneva offensive skill players like quarterback Brandon Beitzel, running backs Michael Santacaterina and Connor Quinn, receiver Charlie James and tight end Jack Delabar.

Defensively, the Vikings have been stingy in allowing just 16 points per game, not a good sign for the anemic DeKalb offense.
