The Kane County Health Department has canceled the H1N1 clinics originally scheduled for today and Monday, Nov. 9 due to a vaccine shortage.
The Health Department said it is not expecting to receive any shipments large enough in the foreseeable future to conduct the community clinics on either of the dates.
In order to accommodate those who need the vaccine the most, the Health Department has established an appointment system for dispensing limited numbers of vaccinations.
Residents who are pregnant, who live with or provide care for infants younger than six months, are health care or emergency medical services personnel, are aged six months through 24 years or aged 25 to 64 years with health risks can call (630) 444-3189 to schedule an appointment.
Vaccinations will be given at the health departments offices, 1330 N. Highland Ave. in Aurora and 113 Grove Ave. in Elgin, on Mondays and Thursdays.
