Geneva, IL -

Starting at 8 a.m. this Saturday, the Geneva Beautification Committee will be planting flowers for summer across the city.

Volunteers will set up at the Geneva Post Office, 26 S. 3rd St., and move across the city planting flowers in many different gardens.

1st Ward Alderman Sam Hill said that the day should go until about noon.

“Nothing could be more appropriate than just calling it ‘flower power’,” Hill said.

According to Geneva Administrative Assistant and Planting Area Captain Sherri Weitl, Hill will be out in front of the Post Office early in the morning collecting donations for the Beautification Committee.

For information, visit the Geneva Beautification Committee’s website at www.genevaspac.org/beautification.
