Geneva, IL -

Although this year’s Swedish Days Festival will leave Hamilton Street closed between Second Street and Third Street until Thursday Geneva police Cmdr. Julie Nash said the traffic shouldn’t worry residents.

“It’s (usually) not that bad,” Nash said. “It’s a little slower moving. But with patience, people will easily be able to get through town in a quick manner.”

Nash said people will not have to worry about alternative routes and that there should be plenty of parking.

“Several streets within the downtown do get posted ‘no parking’ during this time of the year,” Nash said. “So there is less parking, but there is plenty of parking that will accommodate the festival.”

This year’s festival will end on Sunday.
