Geneva, IL -

At 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, Mayor Kevin Burns and other members of the Geneva community will dedicate Joshel Plaza, at the corner of Third Street and Crescent Place.

The plaza is named after longtime Third Street businessman and volunteer Robert Joshel. Joshel ran Mid Valley Lumber until the early 1990s and quietly served the Geneva community.

Burns also will reveal public art sculpture “Rain Man.” The sculpture, which was created by Miles Metzger and donated by Kent Shodeen, will adorn a portion of the plaza.

The dedication also will help start the Geneva Fine Arts Festival, which takes place the same weekend in downtown Geneva.
