The Junior League of Kane and DuPage Counties, Inc., an organization of more than 250 women committed to helping at-risk youth in DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties, will welcome its 2008-09 new member class during a special event at Reins of Change in Elgin Saturday, Sept. 6.
After a summer of informational socials, new members will attend their first official JLKD meeting and participate in the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association Certified program at Reins of Change, which is owned by sustaining JLKD member Amy Lomas.
During the course of the six-hour training, the JLKD leadership team, Rains of Change staff and resident horses, will work with the new members to develop strategic communications and problem solving skills.
