DuPage Children’s Museum will ring in a day of musical discovery featuring performances by the Mobile Millennium Carillon on Tuesday, June 3.

DuPage Children’s Museum, a top Chicago area cultural attraction, invites visitors to enjoy a day of musical discovery beginning at 10 a.m. with Naperville’s debut performance of the Mobile Millennium Carillon. To continue the musical experience throughout the day, there will be make-it and take-it musical instrument activities in the Studio; additional rhythm instruments in Creativity Connections; and local favorite Jon Warfel will provide keyboard accompaniment for a lively sing-a-long session of popular children’s classics from 1 to 2 p.m.

A mini-concert of children’s favorites will ring through the air as the Mobile Millennium Carillon starts a day of remote recitals throughout the Naperville area with multiple performances at DuPage Children’s Museum from 10 a.m. to noon. The young audience also will have the opportunity to find out from the carillonneurs how a carillon works and how they learn how to play it.

The traveling carillon contains 48 bronze bells, which were cast by the Royal Eijsbouts Foundry, the same foundry that cast the bells in the Naperville Millennium Carillon. The Mobile Millennium Carillon will play in recital at the Jewel Food Store at 2855 95th Street from 1 to 2:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., it will join with Naperville's Millennium Carillon on the Riverwalk. This recital is a kick-off for the Annual Summer Recital Series at the Millennium Carillon, which begins on June 10, and continues each Tuesday evening through the end of August.
