
A suspected burglar was caught by Riverside police after a foot pursuit Wednesday, Sept. 23.
James W. Castiglione, 31, of Berwyn was charged with felony residential burglary and has a long criminal history, according a report released by Riverside police.
Police were notified at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, that a Riverside resident in the 200 block of Blackhawk Road had been confronted by a man in his home.
The man was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and has a tattoo in the shape of the letter “S” with a sword running through it, police said. When the homeowner arrived, the man fled through neighbor’s yards and was pursued by the homeowner.
With the help of residents and the Berwyn, Lyons and North Riverside police departments, Castiglione, who was carrying his red shirt and had a tattoo matching the resident’s description, was arrested.
