Berwyn police are investigating the robbery of two AT&T workers at gunpoint Sept. 19.
The workers, a 55-year-old Palos Heights man and a 54-year-old Worth man, were on their lunch break when they were robbed by two men, Berwyn police reports said. The workers were sitting in an AT&T vehicle at about 11:30 a.m. on the 2200 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, police reports said.
The suspects took a wallet, $50 in cash, a driver’s license, credit cards, a Firearm Owners Identification card, an AT&T identification card and a cell phone with AT&T service from the Worth man. The Palos Heights man said the suspects took $10 out of his wallet, his driver’s license and a credit card, according to police reports.
The first suspect was described as a fair-skinned black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds, wearing a black and white baseball cap, white T-shirt and plaid shorts, brandishing a dark-colored gun, according to police reports.
The second suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds, with black hair combed out into a point at the left side. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and plaid shorts, police reports said.
The AT&T workers said they had walked to McDonald’s at Cermak Road and Ridgeland Avenue and were back in their vehicle eating lunch when the first suspect approached the driver’s side door and demanded money and a cell phone, police reports said. The second suspect approached the passenger side, demanding money, police reports said.
A purchase of $301.62 was made at about 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at Macy’s, 111 N. State St., Chicago, and two credit cards were used to attempt to make a purchase at that store for $364.31, according to police reports. One credit card was used at a city of Chicago parking garage for $6 at about 12:30 p.m. Sept. 19, according to police reports.
