Each week when classes are in session during the 2006-07 academic year, The Life will publish the luncheon menus for the Cicero, North Berwyn and South Berwyn grade schools and Morton High School districts.

Unity Junior High School in Cicero and Heritage and Freedom middle schools in South Berwyn have menus different than the other district schools. Items offered daily at Heritage include hickory smoked burgers, chicken patties, salad bar, sub sandwiches, barbecue ribette sandwiches and pizza.

Classes will not be held on Monday, Feb. 19, in North and South Berwyn schools in observance of Presidents’ Day.

The menus for this week are:

Cicero schools
Monday: Chicken strips, potato stars, blue raspberry juice bar, ketchup, barbecue sauce, chocolate chip muffin.
Tuesday: Cheeseburger, green beans, mixed fruit cup, hamburger bun, ketchup.
Wednesday: Macaroni and cheese, garden vegetables, grape juice.
Thursday: Hot dog with tators, apple, hot dog bun, ketchup, mustard.
Friday: Cheese pizza, baby carrots, ranch dressing, banana.

Unity Junior High School
Monday: Chicken strips, potato stars, blue raspberry juice bar, ketchup, barbecue sauce, chocolate chip muffin or toasted cheese sandwich.
Tuesday: Cheeseburger, green beans, mixed fruit cup, ketchup, hamburger bun, jungle crackers or toasted cheese sandwich.
Wednesday: Macaroni and cheese, mixed vegetables, grape juice, minipretzels or toasted cheese sandwich.
Thursday: Jumbo beef hot dog, potato rounds, apple, hot dog bun, ketchup, mustard, low-fat honey grahams or toasted cheese sandwich.
Friday: Cheese pizza, baby carrots, ranch dressing, banana or toasted cheese sandwich.

North Berwyn schools
Tuesday: Pizza slice, potato wedges, chilled applesauce, graham crackers.
Wednesday: Hamburger on a bun, green salad, pears.
Thursday: Hot dog on a bun, tiny triangles, petite banana.
Friday: Macaroni and cheese, fresh carrots with ranch dressing, chilled fruit cocktail, alphabet minicookies.
South Berwyn schools
Tuesday: Corn dog or salami and cheese on a bun, carrot slices, peaches.
Wednesday: Chili mac with roll or turkey Caesar wrap, mixed vegetables, applesauce.
Thursday: Turkey hot dog on a bun or all American sub sandwich, baked beans, mixed fruit, teddy bear grahams.
Friday: Cheese pizza, carrot sticks with dip, mandarin oranges, pretzel rods.

Heritage and Freedom middle schools
Tuesday: Foot long hot dog on a bun, baked beans, mixed fruit, teddy bear grahams.
Wednesday: Chili mac with roll, corn, cinnamon apples.
Thursday: Teryiaki chicken with rice, broccoli, peaches.
Friday: Cheese pizza, carrot sticks with dip, orange, pretzel rods.

Morton East/West
Monday: Spiral macaroni with meat sauce, garlic bread or pizza dippers with marinara sauce, tossed green salad, chilled peaches.
Tuesday: Italian meatball sandwich or cheeseburger on a bun, mashed potatoes or sweet corn, chilled applesauce.
Wednesday: Turkey fritter sandwich or lasagna with stuffed breadstick, mashed potatoes or green beans, green salad, chilled pears.
Thursday: Cheese and pepperoni pizza or breaded pork patty sandwich, mashed potatoes, tossed green salad, chilled pineapple.
Friday: Salisbury steak sandwich or grilled cheese sandwich, mashed potatoes or mixed vegetables, chilled fruit cocktail.
