
The York boys and girls golf teams were both represented this weekend as Illinois’ best golfers competed in the Class 3A and Class 2A state tournaments.
York senior Mary Kate Rohn, who played at the Class 2A tournament at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, tied for 48th with a two-day score of 170. Rohn shot an 84 on Friday, and followed that with an 86 on Saturday.
Conant senior Kris Yoo took first at the tournament with a 145 after beating Kaneland junior Hayley Guyton in a one-hole playoff.
York senior Jake Wilms, playing a the Class 3A tournament at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in Bloomington, finished tied for 51st with a two-day total of 163. After firing an 83 on Friday, Wilms responded with an 80 on Saturday.
St. Viator senior Dan Stringfellow earned state championship honors after shooting a 144.
