Glenbard East High School will hold a reception on Tuesday, Sept. 2 for Brian Shaw, its new director of bands.

The reception will be at 8 p.m., following the music booster meeting.

Shaw arrives to Glenbard East from Lafayette, Ind., where he taught at a high school near Purdue University. He received his bachelor of music education degree at Indiana University, where he played in the wind ensemble and was the drum major for two seasons. He will complete his master of music education degree at the University of Illinois next summer.
