Two Chicago men have been charged with murder in connection with the May 16 beating death of a 46-year-old Villa Park man, prosecutors announced Friday.
Joshua Gordon, 20, and Dywayne Head, 19, severely beat James Keniski at his home on the first block of North Addison during an attempted robbery, authorities said. Keniski died May 25 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Gordon and Head are each charged with seven counts of first degree murder. Villa Park police arrested Gordon the night of the beating. Head was arrested June 4.
The pair traveled from Chicago with the intent to rob Keniski at his home, prosecutors said. During the course of the robbery, Keniski was pushed over a banister, falling approximately 10 feet, and repeatedly stepped on.
If convicted of murder, they could face from 20 to 60 years in state prison. In addition to the murder charges, both men are charged with home invasion, robbery and residential burglary.
