Drug charges filed

Paul Doty, 42, of 144 E. Jackson St., Elmhurst, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication at about 1:25 a.m. Oct. 14 at Van Buren and Bryan streets, police said.

Criminal defacement

A profanity was reported written across a vehicle’s trunk with black marker at about 12:11 p.m. Oct. 14 at Greencastle of Elmhurst Independent Living Retirement Homes, police said.

Damage to motor vehicle

Three tires on a Ford Explorer were reported slashed at 5:42 a.m. Oct. 19 in the driveway of a home on the 500 block of North Walnut Street, police said.

A car was reported keyed, causing approximately $500 of damage at about 1:57 p.m. Oct. 20 in the parking lot of Stonegate Terrance Condominiums.

DUI charge filed

Michelangelo Desimone, 29, of 8104 Scenic Drive, Willow Springs, was charged with driving under the influence at about 2:08 a.m. Oct. 19 at Spring Road and Harrison Street, police said.

Residential burglary

Shoes, clothing, fishing and sporting equipment, and tools at a total value of $11,700 were reported stolen at about 3:52 p.m. Oct. 14 from a home on the 100 block of South Chandler Avenue, police said.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Miscellaneous tools valued at $3,055 were reported stolen out of a locked vehicle at about 12:14 p.m. Oct. 17 in the parking lot behind the Extended Stay of America hotel, police said.

Retail theft

A minor was cited for retail theft and issued a trespass order after attempting to leave with $41.22 worth of items from CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave., at about 5:57 p.m. Oct. 14, police said.

John Vaicikonis, 59, of 304 Astor Court, Villa Park, was charged with theft at about 12:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at his home, after leaving Sal’s Beverage World with a 750 ml bottle of vodka without paying for it, police said.

Theft

A decorative piece of a mailbox valued at $15 was reported stolen by an unknown suspect in a red pick-up truck at about 5:29 p.m. Oct. 15 from a home on the 600 block of Lorraine Avenue.

A T-Mobile Behold cell phone valued at $100, a Samsung Eternity flip phone valued at $110, a green LG Rumor cell phone, Tom Tom portable GPS unit, Motorola Q9C cell phone, Verizon Wireless enV cell phone, Blackberry Pearl, AT&T LG Shine cell phone, Samsung Alias II cell phone, and an ID case containing a driver’s license, gift cards and credit cards were reported stolen from a pile of coats at an Elmhurst College sorority party at about 1:52 a.m. Oct. 17 on the 600 block of West St. Charles Road.

Twenty-six DVDs were reported stolen from moving boxes at about 3:07 p.m. Oct. 19 from a home on the 600 block of South Swain Avenue.

A small black keyboard was reported stolen at about 7:53 p.m. Oct. 20 from Elmhurst Public Library.

A Neiman Marcus purse containing a Louis Vuitton wallet, $400 cash, bank cards, driver’s license, checkbook, and digital camera was reported stolen at about 12:12 p.m. Oct. 20 from Starbucks on 164 N. York St.

Lost property

A rear magnetic license plate was reported missing from a Howard Pontiac vehicle at about 10:08 a.m. Oct. 14 at Howard Pontiac.

One of the two assigned plates from four sets of assigned dealer plates were reported missing from Grand Honda at about 10:06 a.m. Oct. 15 at Grand Honda.

A 32 -gigabyte iPod was reported missing around 2:28 p.m. Oct. 16 at Walgreens on 160 N. Palmer Drive.

A wallet was reported missing at 8:02 p.m. Oct. 18 in Behrens Park.

A Motorola I80 cell phone was reported missing at about 2:18 p.m. Oct. 20 from Waterford Banquet Hall.

Bicycle theft

A red Raleigh mountain bike valued at $300 was reported stolen at about 9:25 p.m. Oct. 17 from the front yard of a home on the 600 block of North West Avenue.

Resisting arrest

Robel Gebrai, 22, of 2N252 Amy Ave., Glen Ellyn, has an active warrant out of Glendale Heights for unlawful contact with a street gang member and a warrant from Elmhurst Police for obstructing the peace after resisting arrest and fleeing from an Elmhurst police officer questioning Gebrai while he was with three juvenile girls in the parking lot of Madison School on 783 S. Washington St., police said.

Harboring runaway/aggravated assault

Andrew Gordon, 21, of 309 S. West Ave., Elmhurst, turned himself in to Elmhurst Police on two warrants out of DuPage County Sheriff for harboring a runaway and aggravated assault at about 12:16 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Elmhurst Police Station, police said.

Disorderly conduct

Eric Perez, 20, of 1638 N. 23rd Ave., Melrose Park, was charged with disorderly conduct, alcohol consumption and illegal transportation of alcohol at about 2:24 a.m. Oct. 18 at York Street and Interstate 290, police said.

Miguel Lopez, 17, of 2741 Westbrook Drive, Franklin Park, and Francisco Soto, 19, of 2255 Kirscoff, Franklin Park, and a minor were charged with consumption and illegal transportation of alcohol at about 2:24 a.m. Oct. 18 at York Street and Interstate 290, police said.
