ELMHURST, IL -

Residents are invited to a “Neighborhood Christmas” celebration sponsored by West Suburban Community Church.

Three events — all free— are planned.

Sing holiday songs at a Community Carol Sing, at 6 p.m. Sunday.  In addition to Christmas favorites, the hour-long sing-along will also feature a video montage of festive house decorations (all from Elmhurst), as well as images from the Spring Road sleigh ride and ice sculpture events.  Homemade Christmas cookies will be served.

Take a free sleigh ride from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14.  Park at the church and warm up inside.  Horses will travel around the neighborhood, offering a different view of the season.

West Suburban’s Christmas Eve Service will be at 6 p.m.  A chalk illustration will be drawn with lighting effects.  Children are invited to sit up front. In addition to the chalk art, songs and scriptures of the Christmas story will be shared.

West Suburban Community Church is located at 825 N. Van Auken in Elmhurst (near Churchville Middle School).
