George and Norlynn Egbert of Wheaton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21, 2008 and will be honored during an Egbert family renuion and anniversary banquet. The couple was married at Faith United Church of Christ in Chicago on June 21, 1958. They have lived in Wheaton since 1973.

George is a retired insurance executive, financial planner and College of DuPage instructor. Norlynn was a homemaker, avid volunteer and wrote for the Wheaton Leader and Daily Herald newspapers. Today they enjoy traveling, visiting family, listening to Wheaton Band concerts, gardening and volunteering for numerous local causes. They are members at the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn.

The Egberts have five children, George (Barbara Barr) Egbert III, Joy Egbert, Glory (Bob) Novak, Rose (Kevin) Gustavson and Noel (Brian) Strom; and six grandchildren, Michael and Kelly Novak, Jamie and David Jessup, and Abigail and Grace Gustavson.
