Anniversary: Lierops

Eleanor and Rev. Peter van Lierop of Bridgeway Christian Village, Bensenville, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 21, 2008, with a luncheon hosted by their children and grandchildren. The couple was married June 19, 1943, in Pontiac, Mich., just before Peter left to serve in Morocco and Italy during WWII. Following his return, the van Lierops served as missionaries for almost 30 years in South Korea. The van Lierops have five children, Peter (Cheryl), J. Bernard (Christine), Eleanor (James) Warrington, Martha (Michael) Valasek and Andrea (Dr. John) Paik-Tesch; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
