An incorrect report of Colleen Reagan’s resignation as Downers Grove South’s girls volleyball coach was published in Wednesday’s Downers Grove Reporter.

While the seventh-year coach is expecting a baby this winter, she also expects to be back on the bench next fall for the Mustangs.

“Colleen’s intent is to remain the head coach at Downers South,” Mustangs athletic director Todd Cassens said. “She’s expecting in early December, and I know a lot of people have talked about that on the periphery, see that she’s having a child and some maybe jump to a conclusion (of her resigning) based on what other coaches have done.

“Different pockets of people may have assumed that, but the one pocket that counts is Colleen and myself and we haven’t had any conversations at all about that (her resignation). I expect her to be back in the saddle next fall and remain in the saddle for a while.”
