Jewelry stolen
Police said a home in the 900 block of Rogers Street was burglarized and more than $19,000 in jewelry and electronics were stolen between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 7.
Police said one of the home’s doors was pried open.

Car stolen
Police said a car was stolen from Pugi of Chicagoland, 2020 Ogden Ave., between noon and 12:15 p.m. Aug. 13.
Police said the car was parked in the dealership lot and an employee reported it missing. Police said one of the two car keys was also missing.
The car is a 2008 black Jetta Volkswagen and is valued at $19,125.

Home damaged
Police said a home in the 2400 block of Durand Drive was damaged between 7 p.m. Aug. 6 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 7.
Police said the home’s windows were damaged after someone threw landscape bricks through them.
The damage is estimated at $1,950.

Coin machine burglarized
Police said a coin-operated machine was damaged and burglarized between midnight Jan. 1, 2007 and 2:45 p.m. Aug. 9 at Cici’s Pizza, 1340 Butterfield Road.
Police said $1,288 was missing from the machine and there was $50 in damage.

Home burglarized
A home in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue was burglarized between 2:30 and 4 p.m. Aug. 6.
Police said a glass pane on a rear door was broken and the loss is estimated at $1,227.

Business vandalized
Police said the front glass door at Mid-States Engineering & Sales, 5003 Chase Ave., was broken between noon Aug. 16 and 10 a.m. Aug. 17.
The damage is estimated at $200.

Man charged with drugs
Police said a Downers Grove man was arrested for drug possession after someone approached the police in the 7-Eleven parking lot, 4240 Main St., and told them a man had offered to sell them drugs at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 9.
Police said they found Alberto Delgado-Garcia, 31, 4225 Forest Ave., Downers Grove, and that he matched a description given to them.
Police said while searching Delgado-Garcia they found two bags of a white powder. Delgado-Garcia was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Man charged with drugs
Police said a man was arrested after police found marijuana in his possession at 11:45 p.m. Aug. 9 at Maple Avenue and Main Street.
While on patrol, police saw a car in front of them come to a quick stop and the passenger bent down and pushed something under the seat.
Police said they searched Patrick K. McLaughlin, 32, of Westchester and found about 28 grams of marijuana and a pipe.
McLaughlin was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Airbag stolen
Police said a car was burglarized and an airbag was removed between 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and 8:15 a.m. Aug. 4 while the car was parked on the 1800 block of Ogden Ave.
Police said the damage is estimated at $675.

Car burglarized
Police said a car was burglarized while parked at the Hummer Creek Apartments, 4900 Fairview Ave., between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 9 and 8 a.m. Aug. 10.
Police said a purse was stolen. The loss is estimated at $536.

Several mailboxes damaged
Police said seven mailboxes were damaged on the 800 block of Stockley Road at 2 a.m. Aug. 9.
Police said they were responding to a report of damage at one mailbox when they noticed several other mailboxes on the block were also damaged.

Attempted theft at store
Police said three people were arrested for attempting to steal merchandise from Toys’R’Us, 1434 Butterfield Road, at 4 p.m. Aug. 6.
Police said Victor M. Hernandez, 22, Melissa R. Huerta, 25, and Jesus A. Morales, 30, all of Cicero, were charged with retail theft after they put merchandise in a baby stroller and passed the point of purchase. Police said the recovered merchandise is valued at $266.

Woman charged with DUI
A woman was arrested for drunken driving at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at Main and Oxford streets after police saw her car’s tires roll along the double yellow lane marker.
Sara N. McCoy, 24, of Woodridge was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, obstructed windshield and improper lane use.

Bikes stolen
Police said two bikes were stolen from the Main Street Depot train station, 1000 Burlington Ave.
One bike was stolen between 7 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Aug. 14.
Police said the bike was locked up and is valued at $270. It’s described as a men’s blue Trek bike.
Police said another locked-up bike was stolen from the train station between 6 p.m. Aug. 11 and 8 a.m. Aug. 12. That bike is valued at $160. It’s described as a black Schwinn mountain bike.
