DUI alleged
Police said a man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at 4:10 p.m. Sept. 27 at Belmont Road and Haddow Avenue.
Brian A. Kranenborg, 25, of Lombard also was cited for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and speeding.
Man charged with DUI
A man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at 1:45 a.m. Sept. 26 in the 2100 block of Ogden Avenue.
Nicholas W. Michalek, 24, 233 Indianapolis St., Downers Grove also was charged with an improper lane usage and missing a stop sign.
Tips stolen from store
Two tip jars were stolen from Starbucks, 76 Ogden Ave., by a man at 3:55 p.m. Sept. 24 , police said.
Car reported burglarized
Nursing equipment and hospital identification badges were stolen from a car in the 5100 block of Grand Avenue. The car was unlocked and in a driveway when the incident occurred between Sept. 18 and 21, police said.
Burglary attempt reported
A woman said two black males tried to enter her home at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 3400 block of Venard Road, police said. The men attempted to enter the house through the rear sliding glass door and had also removed a door knob at the front entrance of the home, police said.
Jewelry reported taken
Police said $400 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from a home overnight Sept. 21 in the 4700 block of Lee Avenue. An estimated loss amount was not provided.
Retail theft alleged
A man was charged with retail theft and attempted obstruction of justice after allegedly stealing items from Dominick’s, 42 Ogden Ave., at 7 p.m. Sept. 18.
Mahmoud Mohamed, 56, of Berkely, Calif. was observed by a store employee putting items into his black bag and not paying for them, according to police. When Mohamed was asked to go into the loss prevention office, he struggled with the guard, police said. The struggle resulted in the guard’s face being cut, police said.
Westmont
Drug possession alleged
Nisha Pravinchandra, 25, of Chicago was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license after being pulled over at about 12:30 p.m. Sept. 14 near Ogden Avenue and Richmond Street, police said.
Vehicle reported damaged
Police said three tires were reported slashed on a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Creekwood Drive. The incident occurred overnight Sept. 14, police said. Damage is estimated at $250, according to police.
Battery alleged
Alexander W. Schutz, 23, 7600 Wilton Road, Darien was charged with two counts of battery after police respond to a call of a fight in progress. The arrest occurred at about 12:05 a.m. Sept. 14 in the 0 to 100 block of Burlington Avenue, police said.
Police also allege that while Schutz was in a holding cell waiting to be processed, he spread urine and feces all over the floor of the cell. He was subsequently charged with attempted criminal damage to state supported property and obstructing a police officer, police said.
Cash reported stolen at business
Police said forced entry was made to an undisclosed business in the 300 block of West Ogden Avenue overnight Sept. 13.
A small amount of cash was taken, police said. Loss and damage is estimated at $500, police said.
Bicycle theft reported
Police said a bicycle was taken between 7 and 8 p.m. Sept. 11 in the 100 block of North Warwick Avenue.
DUI charges filed
• Pamela A Scanlon, 56, 5202 Washington St., Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 1 p.m. Sept. 15 near Cass Avenue and 63rd Street.
• Barry B. Lorenc, 50, 628 W. 65th St., Westmont was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 11:20 p.m. Sept. 14 near Cass Avenue and 55th Street.
• Cheryl A. Robinson, 50, of Willowbrook was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 11 near Cass Avenue and 55th Street.
Darien
Police file DUI charges
• Susan M. Mayer, 46, 1446 Coventry Court, Darien was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal and driving on the wrong side of the road after being arrested at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Norman Court and Williams Street, police said.
• Robert Galiullin, 27, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage after being pulled over at 1:45 a.m. Sept. 17 in the 8400 block of North Frontage Road, police said.
3 arrested in altercation
Tammy Galindo, 34, 356 59th St., Willowbrook was charged with battery after being arrested at 11 p.m., Sept. 10 after allegedly striking a bouncer at Q Billiards, 8109 Cass Ave., police said.
According to police, Mario Galindo, 33, 356 59th St., Willowbrook was charged with assault after allegedly starting a fight with another patron inside the business during the same altercation.
A third party, Kate Steinhoff, 21, of Bolingbrook was arrested for three outstanding warrants and transferred to the Burr Ridge Police Department, according to police.
