Home burglarized
A home was burglarized between 7 p.m. Aug. 22 and 12:15 p.m. Aug. 23 on the 5200 block of Fairview Avenue, according to police reports.
Police said electronics and jewelry valued at $9,950 are missing.
Kwik Mart robbed
Police said the Kwik Mart, 6314 Main St., was robbed around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 after a man entered the store, caused a distraction and ran away with $1,205 from the register.
Police said the man entered the store and dropped a beer he got out of the cooler on the floor, causing the glass to break.
Police said an employee was throwing away the glass in the back and when she walked back up front, she noticed that money from two cash registers was missing. Police said the man then ran outside the store.
Electronics stolen
Police said Turbo Auto Sales, 1233 Ogden Ave., was burglarized between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and 8 a.m. Aug. 18.
Police said two computers were missing, and the computer server also was missing from inside a cabinet.
The loss is estimated at $5,300.
Tools stolen
Police said a van was burglarized at about 2:30 p.m. Aug. 22 while parked at Circuit City, 976 Highland Ave.
Police said the van’s owner noticed a tool from inside the van lying on the ground and the passenger-side door lock was popped out.
Police said tools were missing valued at $2,695 and damage to the van is estimated at $50.
Video game machines burglarized
Police said two video games at Fuddruckers, 1500 Branding Ave., were broken into between midnight Aug. 4 and 3 p.m. Aug. 18.
Police said a latch on each machine was bent until they broke and $1,110 is missing.
Employee charged with theft
Police said an employee at Auto Zone, 6235 Belmont Road, was taking money from the cash register between 10 p.m. July 8 and 10 p.m. Aug. 2.
Police said Ronald W. Taylor, 20, of Maywood told them he kept cash on three occasions during transactions.
Taylor was charged with theft.
Golf clubs stolen
Police said a car was burglarized between 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 8 a.m. Aug. 22 on the 5700 block of Dearborn Parkway.
Police said a golf bag and golf clubs were missing. The loss is estimated at $850.
Spare tire stolen
A spare tire was stolen from under a car between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Aug. 25 while parked at the Belmont Depot train station, 5000 Belmont Road, police said.
The loss is estimated at $750.
Car damaged
Police said a car window was damaged between 9 p.m. Aug. 21 and 7 a.m. Aug. 22 on the 400 block of Buckingham Place.
Police said the car’s rear window was smashed with a landscape brick. Damage is estimated at $400.
Car keyed
Police said a car was vandalized between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 23 on the 900 block of Prentiss Drive.
Police said the car was keyed while parked at an apartment complex. The damage is estimated at $300.
Bicycle stolen
Police said a bicycle was stolen between 6 p.m. Aug. 17 and 9 a.m. Aug. 19 on the 4600 block of Stanley Avenue.
Police said the bike is a red BMX style bike and is valued at $250.
Man charged with DUI
A man was arrested for drunken driving at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 24 at Ogden and Cumnor Road.
Police said Robert K. Hudson, 60, of 38 Prairie Drive, Westmont, was sitting in the driver’s seat slumped over. Police said they put the running car into park and removed the keys from the ignition.
Hudson was charged with driving under the influence.
Woman charged with DUI
A woman was arrested for drunken driving after she was involved in a car crash at 9 p.m. Aug. 14 at 5500 Main St.
Police said Kathryn D. Manz, 39, of Palos Heights, failed to stop her car to avoid hitting a stopped car. Police said Manz rear-ended another car.
Manz was charged with driving under the influence.
Man charged with DUI
A man was arrested for drunken driving at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Woodward Avenue and Prentiss Drive.
Police said Kelvin W. Davis, 50, of 2127 Prentiss Drive, Downers Grove, started to drift into the lane the police were driving in. Police said they honked the horn and Davis jerked his car back into the lane, causing the tires to hit the solid yellow line. Police said Kelvin also didn’t yield while making a left-hand turn.
Kelvin was charged with driving under the influence and failure to yield.
Man charged with DUI
A man was arrested for drunken driving at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 24 at 75th Street and Lemont Road.
Police said Felix R. Salazar, 25, of Bolingbrook, was driving a car facing westbound on 75th Street in the eastbound lanes.
Salazar was charged with driving under the influence, no valid driver’s license and driving in the wrong lane.
Man charged with DUI
A man was arrested for drunken driving at 11 p.m. Aug. 23 at Main Street and Maple Avenue.
Police said Antonio Brandonisio, 23, of Stickney, was driving 59 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Brandonisio was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and driving without insurance.
