Downers Grove, IL -

The Downers Grove Police Department is alerting all residents to be cautious of suspicious people in the area after multiple burglary reports.

Since Oct. 16, six similar residential burglaries have occurred south of Ogden Avenue, north of 55th Street, east of Main Street and west of Roslyn Road, according to police.

Police said to call 911 if residents observe an unfamiliar person knocking on doors and then going to the rear of the entrance, appearing from between homes, in suspicious cars and dogs barking unusually.

The method of entry the burglars have been using is going through an unlocked or open window or door during the daytime hours, according to police.

Items taken are laptop computers, jewelry and electronics.

If you have any information regarding these incidents contact Detective Jeremy Thayer at (630) 434-5653.
