The Westmont Police Department has charged two employees of local establishments for selling alcohol to minors during a compliance check of liquor licensed businesses.
The investigation included a check of 48 Westmont businesses conducted Oct. 29. Those charged with selling alcohol to minors include:
Lauren M. Fijol, 24, of 410 Wexford Drive, Lemont, an employee of Guava, 800 E. Ogden Ave., and Dawn T. Dvorak, 51, of 116 E. Naperville Road, Westmont, of Suburbanite Bowl, 201 West Ogden Ave.
Police said the employees charged with selling to a person under the age of 21 face a fine of $75 to $750 under village ordinances, and the businesses at which the violations occurred will have a hearing before Mayor William Rahn, who also serves as the village’s liquor commissioner.
In that hearing, Rahn can fine the business, or suspend or revoke the business’ liquor license, police said.
