Downers Grove, IL -

The Downers Grove Police Department is confident they have identified the individuals responsible for multiple burglaries since Oct. 16, according to Police Chief Bob Porter.

Porter said at the Nov. 3 Village Council meeting the people responsible are from another community, and police are still piecing together evidence to bring charges.

“We encourage the community to feel confident this is our group that has been victimizing our residents,” Porter said.

The burglaries occurred South of Ogden Avenue and North of 55th Street and East of Main Street and West of Roslyn Road, according to police reports.

Porter said the burglaries occurred during daytime hours, which concerned the department about children home sick during the day.

No further comments were given at the time as the investigation is still ongoing.
