During the Fourth of July holiday weekend, the Illinois Tollway will halt its temporary lane closures that are part of ongoing construction projects.
The suspension in lane closures will take place from noon Thursday until 9 a.m. Monday.
The tollway has also announced that there are two newly opened ramps on the Tri-State Tollway.
The Half Day Road entrance ramp to southbound Interstate 294 and northbound exit ramp are open. Also, the southbound I-294 exit ramp to eastbound Grand Avenue will reopen to traffic before the weekend.
Roadway Rebuild and Widen Projects that will be completed systemwide this year are part of the Illinois Tollway’s $6.3 billion Congestion-Relief Program.
