The Downers Grove Professional Firefighters Association has announced its endorsements of candidates running for seats on the Village Council.
Candidates Robert Barnett, Marilyn Schnell and William Waldack were selected by the group following their responses to a questionnaire from the DGPFA Political Education Committee.
“These candidates demonstrated to us the best understanding of the village’s current and future public safety needs and how best to address them. We look forward to working with them to ensure these needs are met,” said the association’s secretary Rob Pekelder, in a written statement.
Schnell and Waldack are incumbents. This is the first time Barnett has sought a seat as a village commissioner. He currently serves on the village’s Storm-water and Floodplain Oversight Committee.
Candidate Jim Norris is also seeking one of the three seats opening on the council in the April 7 election.
