Downers Grove, IL -

Downers Grove police have arrested a Berwyn man suspected of a burglary in the village who could be connected to a string of burglaries last month.

Javier Granados, 19, of 3631 Clinton St., was charged with one count of residential burglary that occurred Oct. 27 in the area of 55th Street and Fairview Avenue, according to reports.

Since Oct. 16, burglaries have occurred south of Ogden Avenue and north of 55th Street, and east of Main Street and west of Roslyn Road, according to police reports. On Oct. 28, Chief Bob Porter issued a crime alert to residents for the string of burglaries.

Granados has been linked to one of the burglaries that initiated the crime alert and police said he is believed to be part of a larger group of people committing these burglaries.

Granados has also been charged with four residential burglaries for incidents that occurred in Cook County, police said.
