When it comes to aging loved ones, finding the assisted living facility that is right for them can be a difficult road to navigate.

That’s where Downers Grove resident Kerry Quirin comes in.

Since 2007, Quirin has worked as a senior living advisor with Senior Living Experts — a nationwide business that provides free services to clients looking for the appropriate living arrangements, or home care, for relatives who seek more support than they can provide for themselves.

“When I started working with seniors I realized quickly that this was my niche in life,” Quirin said. “I feel like they are the greatest generation. They’ve been through so much and seen the world come full circle.”

Quirin said whether it’s finding a place that will clip toenails or assist the senior citizen with filling out paperwork, she does the legwork. Once a senior has lived in a facility for 30 days, Quirin said that facility pays Senior Living Experts a fee.

“No one wants to move into an assisted living community. But when they do and they thrive and their lives change for the better there is that satisfaction that comes over me,” Quirin said.
