Downers Grove
Teenagers arrested
Several teenagers were arrested after a fight at about 12:25 a.m. Oct. 4 at Downers Grove North High School, 4436 Main St.

Stephen Banda, 17, 6016 Green Drive, Woodridge, was charged with battery and underage drinking.

Mitchell Witek, 17, 4932 Middaugh Ave., Downers Grove, and Joseph McKenna, 17, 4729 Northcott Ave., Downers Grove, were charged with disorderly conduct. UPDATE: The charges against Witek were dismissed Nov. 9, according to DuPage County court records.

Joseph Fox, 17, 3636 Douglas Road, Downers Grove, was charged with underage drinking.

Another juvenile also was charged with underage drinking.

Cigarettes stolen
At about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 14, officers responded to an alarm at the Tobacco Discount store, 2321 Ogden Ave.  When they arrived, they found the front glass door shattered and cartons of cigarettes missing. About 20 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes, valued at $500, were reported missing.

IPod stolen from vehicle
Police responded to a theft call at about 10:35 a.m. Oct. 13 in the 6300 block of Saratoga Avenue.
The victim told police his iPod had been stolen from his vehicle overnight. The man reported that the doors may have been unlocked.

Car mirror smashed
Police responded to a criminal damage to property call at about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12 in the 500 block of 59th Street.  The victim told police that overnight, someone had shattered the driver’s side mirror. Officers observed broken, clear glass on the ground near the vehicle. 

Drug possession alleged
A man was charged with possession of marijuana after being arrested at about 5:10 p.m. Oct. 9 at the intersection of Dunham Road and 62nd Street, according to police.
Andrew Pavesich, 17, 6912 Grand Ave., Downers Grove, allegedly had 21.2 grams of marijuana, police said.

Man charged with DUI
Police said a man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 12:45 p.m. Oct. 7 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, 3815 Highland Ave.
Zacariah M. Stanley, 20, of Fox Lake was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and improper lane usage, according to police.

Man faces DUI charge
A man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 1:10 a.m. Oct. 13 at the intersection of 63rd Street and the Veterans Memorial Tollway, police said.
Terrence McSweeney, 45, of Villa Park also was charged with driving without insurance and improper lane usage, police said.

Endangerment alleged
A man was charged with endangering the life of a minor after being arrested at about 1:40 a.m. Oct. 12 at 3000 Finley Road, police said.

Police said Eduardo Ciggaroa-Hernandez, 24, 6510 Woodward Ave., Downers Grove also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said a child was found in the car during the traffic stop.

Traffic stop yields arrest
A man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 3:10 a.m. Oct. 9 at the intersection of 75th Street and Dunham Road, police said.

Miguel Rodriguez, 29, of Westmont also was charged with speeding, no valid driver’s license, following too closely and improper lane usage, according to police.

The man was driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone, police added.

Domestic battery alleged
Raquel S. Delane, 22, of the 1000 block of South Williams Street, Westmont was charged with domestic battery after police said he allegedly struck a person. The incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Oct. 15 at her residence, police said.

Stereo equipment taken
Police said a car was burglarized overnight Oct. 15 in the 6700 block of South Echo Lane. Stereo equipment and speakers, valued at $600, are missing, police said. No damage estimate was given by police.

Tools reported stolen
Police said $1,800 worth of power tools were removed from a vacant apartment overnight Oct. 14 in the 100 block of West 60th Street. Forced entry was made to gain access into the apartment.

Resisting arrest alleged
Nicholas A. Gordon, 23, of Bolingbrook was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, criminal damage to government- supported property, aggravated battery and three counts of resisting arrest. The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. Oct. 13 in the 6700 block of South Alpine Lane.

According to police, officers responding to a fight found that Gordon allegedly had a knife. Gordon then allegedly ran from police and struggled with officers when they attempted to arrest him, police said. He then allegedly made a dent in a police squad car after kicking it.

Police also said that Gordon had two outstanding arrest warrants at the time of the incident.
 
Feces left on porch
Police said feces was smeared along two sets of community mailboxes, and feces was left on a porch in the 0-100 block of Indian Trail Drive. The incident occurred overnight Oct. 12.

$19,000 taken from home
Police said someone forced entry into a home in the 100 block of West End Avenue. Items reported missing included a computer and jewelry, valued at $19,000. The incident occurred between 1:45 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12, police said.

Home vandalized
Six interior doors were marked with white spray paint and eight interior doors were kicked in between  Oct. 9 and  12 in a multi-family complex in the 8000 block of Janes Avenue, police said. No damage estimate was provided.

Laptop reported stolen
A backpack containing a laptop computer, valued at $500, was stolen at about 1 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 2400 block of 63rd Street, police said. Reports state the bag and laptop were stolen while the victim was dining at the location.

Home burglarized
Jewelry, collectibles and a safe containing valuables and money were stolen from a home between 4 and about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 8300 block of Chelsea Lane, police said. An estimated loss was not provided by police.

MP3 player, money taken
About $18 in miscellaneous coins and an MP3 player were stolen from a car between 9 p.m. Oct. 9 and 6 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 6200 block of Stable Road, police said.

DUIs charged
• Aldo Gonzalez, 33, 2275 Country Club Road, Woodridge was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, attempted obstruction of justice and warrant service following a traffic stop at about 4 a.m. Oct. 10 at 75th Street and Woodward Avenue, police said.

•  Police said Anthony Warren, 50, 6510 Woodward Ave., Downers Grove was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol following the a traffic stop at about 12:15 a.m. in the 6500 block of Route 53.

Gas reported stolen
Someone pumped $46 worth of gasoline and left without paying at about 12:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Mobil Gas Station located in the 1900 block of 75th Street, police said.
