Westchester voters passed a resolution in support of its current form of government.
With nine of 19 precincts reporting, 2,231 residents had voted in favor of retaining a village manager government, while 1,645 voted against the current system.
If the referendum had failed, the village would have reverted to the system it had before 1985, when residents approved the switch to give more hiring and firing authority to the village manager, instead of the village president.
