Applications received for vacant school board seat

Four applications have been submitted for the vacant seat on the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 School Board.
Thomas Cunningham resigned on Sept. 21 from his position after being with the board for 14 years. He submitted a one-sentence resignation letter via e-mail to the district office and each board member. He did not cite a reason for his departure.
Those interested in filling the vacancy should call board secretary Pamela Osika at (630) 719-5803. An application must be filled out and submitted to the board no later than 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. An application can be downloaded from the district’s Web site at dg58.dupage.k12.il.us.
The position is to be appointed on Oct. 23 in a special meeting.
