Many local nonprofit organizations are struggling to reach their fundraising goals due to the current economic environment. Carson Pirie Scott recently announced that groups may sign up now to participate in the store’s successful Community Day fundraising opportunity, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28. The program provides an opportunity for local 501(c)3 organizations to raise the funds needed to support their missions.
Local nonprofit groups have already begun selling Carson’s discount savings booklets to support their organizations. Nonprofit groups sell the booklets for $5 and in return, the purchaser receives a $10 off coupon plus special savings coupons valid on regular and sale price merchandise on event day. In 2008, the Carson’s locations helped raise more than $10 million for participating nonprofit organizations through the Community Day events.
Organizations who wish to participate in the Spring Community Day event can register now by logging onto www.communitydayevent.com and submitting a registration form. The Web site provides the details of the event. Eligible Community Day organizations include local 501(c)3s, churches and schools.
“Supporting nonprofit organizations and helping others in our communities through this fundraising opportunity is extremely important to our company,” said Bud Bergren, president and CEO of Carson’s. “This program allows us to make a meaningful impact in our communities while offering our customers great savings in our stores.”
