After an exciting and successful 2008, Adrienne Bicek kicked off the New Year with a big splash at the Junior Pan Pacific Games Jan. 8-11 in Guam.
The Downers Grove North senior earned the bronze medal in the 200-meter butterfly with her third place time of 2:11.20.
Bicek also swam personal best times in, the 100 butterfly (sixth-place 1:01.47), the 200 individual medley (2:18.49, placing ninth) and the 400 individual medley (12th-place 4:51.87).
Bicek swam at the U.S. Olympic Time Trials last summer, and followed with a brilliant season at Downers North in which she became the first state champion in Trojans’ swimming history (winning the 200 IM).
