Clarendon Hills
Bicycles taken
A mountain bike and dirt bike were taken between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Aug. 15 when they were left unlocked next to a house on the 400 block of Lynn Court, police said. The bicycles are valued at $600.

Window broken
According to police, a storm window was broken between 7 p.m. Aug. 18 and 6 a.m. Aug. 19 on the 100 block of Mohawk Drive. Something was thrown or hit the window, but the interior window was not broken, police said.

Hit-and-run reported
A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was struck by a speeding BMW at about 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at 55th Street and Clarendon Hills Road, according to reports. The BMW sped off eastbound on 55th Street, police said. Police did not provide more details on the incident.

License suspended
Police said Maurice Coney, 40, of Chicago, was charged with speeding and driving while license suspended after being arrested at about 5:15 p.m. Aug. 20 at Route 83 and 55th Street.

Police make DUI stop
Police said Jason Smith, 23, 140 Ann St., Clarendon Hills, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after being arrested at about 2 a.m. Aug. 21 at Park and Eastern avenues.

Smith, while driving his yellow cab, struck a retaining wall at Park and Eastern avenues and left the scene by foot, police added. He also was charged with failure to give information after an accident and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Suspended license alleged
Police said Juan Gonzalez-Lara, 20, of Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended and driving while registration suspended after being arrested at about 8 a.m. Aug. 21 at Route 83 and 55th Street.

Traffic stop yields arrest
Peggy Brooks, 45, 100 Ramsey Place, Westmont, was charged with speeding and driving while license suspended after being arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Walker and Western avenues.

Hinsdale
Police make drug arrest
A woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance after being arrested at 3 p.m. Feb. 21 in the first block of East First Street, police said.

Courtney Jean Brown, 23, of Villa Park, was in possession of a controlled substance at the time of arrest, which was sent to the lab for testing. She also was arrested and later charged for forgery on the same date, police added.

Disorderly conduct alleged
Felix Contreras, 26, of Romeoville, was arrested for allegedly urinating in public at about 5 p.m. Aug. 11 on the 100 block of North Elm Street, according to reports.
Contreras was charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

Computer taken
According to police, a computer monitor and alcohol products were taken between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 10 a.m. Aug. 13 from the Salt Creek Club, 830 N. Madison St. There was no forced entry used to enter the building, police said.

Bicycle stolen
A BMX bike was taken between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Aug. 14 from the Hinsdale Pool, 500 W. Hinsdale Ave., according to police. The $80 bike was left unlocked at the Hinsdale Pool bike rack, police said.

Burglaries attempted
Two attempted residential burglaries occurred Aug. 15 and 17, according to police.
Between 1:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Aug. 15, a fist-size hole was made in the glass pane of a rear storm window on the 600 block of Hinsdale Avenue. Nothing was taken from the house, police said.

A door of a home was damaged at about 8 p.m. Aug. 17 on the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Nothing was taken, police said.

Phone taken from car
A Dodge Charger was burglarized between 10 p.m. Aug. 16 and 2 p.m. Aug. 17 on the 400 block of South Bodin Street, according to police. A $150 cell phone and $100 MP3 player were taken, police said. The vehicle was unlocked, police added.

Teen charged with battery
Galvydas Kuncas, 17, 34 S. Bodin St., Hinsdale, was charged with aggravated battery after being arrested at his home at about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 15, police said.

Kuncas allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with a person at about 11:45 a.m. April 18 at Hinsdale Central High School, 55th and Grant streets, police said. Kuncas was arrested on a warrant, police added.

Police make DUI arrest
A man was arrested for drunken driving at about 3 a.m. Aug. 18 at 55th and Madison streets, police said.

Jose A. Morales, 36, 1440 Willow Lane, Hinsdale, was seen slumped over the wheel of his vehicle parked at an intersection. He was charged with aggravated DUI, aggravated driving with suspended license, improper parking on roadway, operating an uninsured vehicle and obstructing justice, police said.

Morales was transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, police added.

Debit card stolen
A debit card was reported stolen and used to purchase gas between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 800 block of North Madison Street, police said. The loss is $97.50, police said.

Man faces DUI charge
A man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after being arrested at about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 19 at 55th and Monroe streets, police said.

Thomas Krasauska, 18, 6171 Knoll Lane Court, Willowbrook, also was charged with speeding, driving without headlights, improper lane usage and use of unsafe tire, police added.

House burglarized
Two males were charged with residential burglary after breaking into a home between 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 and 9 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 200 block of North Washington Street, police said.

Jonathan G. Massie, 19, 6340 Americana Drive, Willowbrook, was charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, theft and criminal trespass to residence.

Matthew D. Houghton, 19, of the same address, was charged with criminal trespass to residence, police said.

Four handguns, bullets and a coin jar were taken when they entered the home. The items are valued at 1,500, police added.

Battery alleged
A man was charged with battery after being arrested at about 11:15 a.m. Aug. 21 at Ayers Avenue and Lincoln Street, police said.
Jose Luis Gaspar-Pirita, 33, of Forest Park, was charged with battery after making physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the victim, police added.

Burglary attempted
Burglary was attempted about midnight Aug. 22 at Chase Bank, 400 E. Ogden Ave., police said. A person attempted to open an automated telling machine, but nothing was taken, police added.

Property damage reported
A person damaged a builder’s sign and Realtor sign at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 in the 300 block of East Sixth Street, police said. No loss was reported by police.

Purse taken from car
A car was burglarized between 5 p.m. Aug. 22 and 9 a.m. Aug. 23 in the 200 block of South Monroe Street, police said. A purse, wallet, sunglasses and cell phone were taken from an unlocked car in the driveway, police said. Police did not provide a loss amount.

Parking meter missing
A parking meter was taken from the first block of East First Street at about 3 p.m. Aug. 23, police said. The loss is estimated at $500, police added.

Oak Brook
Theft alleged
Police said Terrell Gipson, 18, of Maywood, was charged with theft after being arrested at about 6 p.m. July 30 at Sears, 2 Oakbrook Center.
Gipson, an employee at the store, allegedly removed $500 from the registers, police added.

Police make DUI stop
Police said William Clark, 50, of North Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 2 on Route 83 north of 31st Street.
Clark also was charged with improper lane use, police added.

Cash stolen
According to police, $200 cash was taken from a wallet in a purse between 9 a.m. Aug. 6 and 5 p.m. Aug. 7 when it was left on a desk at Chiro-One, 2210 Camden Court.

Teen charged with theft
Katherine Aitken, 17, of Lisle, was charged with retail theft after being arrested at about 6 p.m. Aug. 11 at Urban Outfitters, 294 Oakbrook Center, police said.

Aitken allegedly concealed several items of clothing valued at $202 in her purse. An alarm was activated when she tried to leave the store, police said.

Man faces drug charges
Adam Ward, 22, of Westchester, was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while registration suspended and possession of drug equipment after being arrested at about 11 p.m. Aug. 14 at 22nd Street and Jorie Boulevard, according to police.

A glass pipe was found inside the front pocket of a shirt hanging in the back, police added.

Weaving leads to DUI
Maritza Espinoza, 33, of Addison, was charged with improper lane use and driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at Route 83 and the Reagan Memorial Tollway, police said.

Man charged with DUI
Kyle Steinkuller, 25, of Carol Stream, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Aug. 17 on the 2100 block of Butterfield Road, according to police.

Steinkuller also was charged with speeding, improper lane use and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police added.

Man charged with forgery
Police said Dale Johnson, 25, of Chicago, was charged with felony forgery after being arrested at about 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at Express, 429 Oakbrook Center.
Johnson purchased merchandise at Express with a fraudulent $500 travelers check, police said.

Speeding yields DUI
Police said Daria Rogers, 38, 1100 S. Williams St., Westmont, was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 16 on southbound Route 83 at 31st Street.
Rogers also was charged with improper lane use, police added.

Drug possession alleged
Police said Kimberly Wilson, 28, of Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after being arrested at about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 19 on westbound 22nd Street at Spring Road.

A plastic bag with the marijuana was found in the center console, police added.
